Tejendra Khanna Releases Annual June 2009, Issue of Journal of Vedic Astrology

 

Delhi June 1: Lt. Gov. Mr. Tejendra Khanna released the June 2009 issue of Journal of Vedic Astrology at a ceremony in Raj Niwas today. The journal, containing research articles on Vedic astrology is brought out annually by Prof. Vishnu Bhaskar, Director, International Institute of Vedic Astrology on a specific theme of Vedic astrology. This year’s theme of the journal is Prashna Shastra. Dr. Lata Singh, former Secretary to Government of India presided over the function.

Lt. Gov. Tejendra Khanna appreciated the invaluable contribution made by Vishnu Bhaskar in propagating the knowledge of Vedic Astrology and other ancient Indian sciences for the welfare of the society. He expressed his happiness over the fact that apart from his research activities Vishnu Bhaskar is also holding free classes for practicing astrologers for upgrading their skills as well as holding free astrology camps for the general public. He also mentioned that Vishnu Bhaskar’s scientific temper and his intellectual curiosity combined with a steady faith in the divine make him the ideal person for the study of esoteric sciences. It is heartening to see this touch of intellectualism in this materialist world.

Prof. Vishnu Bhaskar is an IAS officer of the 1968 batch who took voluntary retirement for persuing research, teaching and consultations in astrology. He is also running an ‘International Institute of Vedic Astrology’ (www.astrosciences.com & www.jyotish.org), a finishing school for astrologers for upgrading their predictive skills. His students include several astrologers from USA, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Belgium, Croatia, Norway, Japan, Dubai, Singapore, Greece, Pakistan, Turkey and many parts of India. He has so far published seven journals of his research work on various aspects of Vedic astrology – arguably one of the largest body of research in this area by a single person in recent times.

According to Vishnu Bhaskar Vedic astrology is a super-science. He said that the latest researches in quantum physics support that the study of ‘unified field theory’ – a mathematical theory to explain all phenomena in the universe (from cosmic to cosmos) must take into account human consciousness as a part of the ‘unified field theory’. This is precisely in line with ancient Vedic and Buddhist philosophy. He also stressed that astrology – being a part of the Vedas can be used for the welfare of the individual and the society as a whole.

Dr. Lata Singh former Secretary to GOI in her presidential address mentioned that Prof. Vishnu Bhaskar has carried out intensive research with total dedication and that his research papers show a high degree of academic excellence. He has codified the rules of Vedic astrology in a comprehensive, precise and systematic manner thus removing all doubts and contradictions sometimes inherent in the classics. His works prove the dictum “gagar me sagar”. She expressed the confidence that the valuable research work of Prof. Vishnu Bhaskar will enable current and future astrologers to make effective use of this ancient knowledge.
